La Chiquitta debuted at Volume in Hong Kong in 2006, as one of the now-defunct trio, The Gliterrazis, and has since been its Resident Drag Diva. Her sisters' early retirement from showbiz coincided with the expansion of the quaint gay bar to Volume Concepts, extending the reach of her reign to Volume HEAT, Beat and Cafe Queen. From her bar show beginnings, she rose the ranks to become the city's most sought-after showgirl, constantly entertaining the followers of Hong Kong nightlife, and also gracing other stages including corporate shows, private parties, product launches, community events, and out-of-town appearances, such as Cirque du Soleil Zaia's Fixation Party | Cubic, Macau (2009), Cirque du Soleil Zaia's Zed Party | Venetian, Macau (2010), Tranny In The House: The Party | Marina Bay Sands Singapore (2012), Love Yourself Anniversary Party: Circle Of Love | Bed, Manila (2012), The Heels Are Alive Party Series | China Rouge, Macau (2013) Star-Studded Halloween | Galaxy Macau (2014), to name a few.
Considered a regular fixture in the theatre circuit in Hong Kong, she has essayed several theatrical roles such as: Veronica in "He Died With A Felafel In His Hands"; Widow Simone in JMW Ballet's "La Fille Mal Gardee"; JLo in "Robin Hood: The Panto"; Rosebud in "Sleeping Beauty"; Featured Soloist in Don't Tell Mama Productions' "Luxuria"; Granny in "Little Red Riding Hood: The Panto"; and Solange in the English translation of Jean Genet's "The Maids".
In October 2009, La C officially became Hong Kong's first recording drag artiste when she launched her single, "Tranny In The House", produced by DJ Stonedog for Volume Up Records. Soon after her record was released, she undertook a further high profile gig when she co-produced and hosted the reality webseries, "Drag It On: Drag Queens In The Making". This inspired her to start "Drag Overdose"- the first of what was to become the annual grand meet-up of professional, budding, and one-night-only drag queens and princesses of the city. It's on its sixth consecutive year as part of Hong Kong's GLBT festival, Pink Season.
It was in September of 2012 when she earned herself a new title, "Your Drag Queentessential guide to everything fun, fabulous and exciting" as she conceptualised and and presented "Chiquitta Time", on RTHK3's From "Top to Bottom". This stint has paved the way for her own radio programme which she hosted with DJ Stonedog: RTHK3's only English LGBT radio show, "The Gaybourhood", which premiered in September of 2013 and has run for two seasons. It aired every Saturday night from 9-10. Bent on keeping her recording artist title forever, she and DJ Stonedog released her second single, "Party Responsibly", at the Drag Overdose Year 3 in September of 2014. Twenty hours after it was first heard publicly, the song topped the iTunes dance charts for four days. Due to its success, she was invited by the Hong Kong University to give a two-part lecture on Drag Culture, which was received very enthusiastically by the students and has become a term staple, running even up this year.

Over the last 9 years, La Chiquitta has risen the
ranks from a budding drag princess from the now-defunct drag trio, The Glitterazzis, to Hong Kong’s most sought-after and prolific drag artiste.

Just Be A Queen

She wrote a contribution to a coffee table book published in NYC, was featured in a magazine in SG, and appeared on TV for a special mini-docu in Manila. Her face constantly pops up in various magazines, newspapers, documentaries, and very recently, as the subject for the locally-filmed music video for "Give Me Light" by UK-based artist, Mind Enterprises. Portraits of her taken by prolific photographers, Tsewhat-Tse (Yale School of Art), Laura Simonsen (HK), The Gaunts (HK) have been on exhibitions, photo galleries and art fairs locally and in various places abroad, the most notable of which, "The Drag Queen Last Supper" made it to the halls of Art Hamptons in New York.
La Chiquitta is currently keeping herself busy with pre-production for a one-woman cabaret, "Jonathan" at the HKU Blackbox in November; her once-a -month hostessing duties for Karaoke Thursdays at FLM; and performing alongside the best drag performers of the city at "#DragDomination", a once-a-month themed show held at Orange Peel in LKF.
